re: On the computer/phone late at night?...

0

I'm going to check this out.  I often find myself kicking down the brightness on my screen at night since I have a bad habit of staying up way too late and it hurts my eyes.  Even after I log off I frequently end up staying up later to watch movies.  Reasons for staying up may include: Amazon Prime just added World War Z, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is on HBO again, I'm going to be tired tomorrow anyways so why not watch the Hobbit again, etc......

Screens are generally designed to produce relatively accurate color, which typically includes a lot of blue light. Blue light tends to keep you awake. The following apps will tint your monitor/phone/table screen to a warmer (more red) color in the evening and overnight. Using them will potentially have 2 effects; colors will not be accurate, and your screen will not be the cause of you staying up late.

I read on my phone at night a lot, and having the red tint tends to let me fall asleep faster than I did prior to using the app. On PC it works on LOTRO in window mode, not sure about full screen (Note: bad for late night raiding ;)
